Another Proof that New Territories Traffic System is Fragile

One car accident paralyzed Tolo Highway for 5 hours. The incident began on Satuday afternoon (2014/07/05 1:30 pm) when a container trailer hit the road curb and blocked all lanes and then a van could not stop on time and hit the trailer near Tai Po Kau, according to Oriental Daily. Many people posted their reports on the fb groups “Tai Po”. Indeed, even the newspaper used their photos.

They may not follow chronological order.

We can see that a car accident in Tai Po paralyzed the whole traffic network of New Territories East — Tolo Highway is the major road that connects between Sheung Shui and Shatin. This is one reason this blog is against North East Development Plan (NENT), since the new population will make the network even more fragile.
